Beatitudes (It is okay)

I tiptoe through life as if I was still a child,

I tatt here and there to feel something solid upholding me in the air,

I don’t want to fall for the weight of time, uncertainty and all I don’t have,

I want to dwell in gratefulness and touch tree trunks and grass,

I want to lower myself enough, to see pride evaporate,

I want to see the light inside, as my faith comes out of its hiding place.

Great dreams do I have,

Passion, Love and Enthousiasm,

Why would all this die?

I’ve survived depression to live and strive,

Nothing is threatening my freedom other than my own heart, weak and impoverished by what is unatural: technology, material things, office desks and tasks on repeat,

Nothing is threatening my freedom other than my own heart, weak and impoverished by what is natural: desire, passion, intimacy but where is self control?

To be free is to not feel restrained by your body but liberated by your spririt,

Your spirit is free, but your body is not willing,

To carry you to the graveyard, lay your ego down,

Undress you of your night gown and present you naked and opened to the light.

So take me bare oh God,

Take me bare, Maryonn,

All of you, take me bare.

I need to cut myself some slack.

I got my back against the cross,

And I need to stay there to become…

So all in all, it’s okay, it will be okay.

Matthew 5:1-11 New International Version (NIV)

Introduction to the Sermon on the Mount

Now when Jesus saw the crowds, he went up on a mountainside and sat down. His disciples came to him, and he began to teach them.

The Beatitudes

He said:

“Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn,
    for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek,
for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness,
    for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart,
    for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

11 “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

I am a poet, writer and singer songwriter. I am also a bilingual Front-desk Hostess and translator. My passions are centered on the beauty of words and their sounds. Words, verses and lyrics can speak to souls and help us connect with one another, and that's what I aim to do. I tend to call myself a lover of love, so anything that I love will also be featured here... I hope you too :)
